As the sun poked over the horizon, shining it's over all the land, Silver awoke . After getting up from her laying position on the ground, she stretched her forelegs and hind quarters. Letting out a loud yawn, she padded outside of the den. Her orals searched around the camp, seeing that there was nothing out of the ordinary. Her tail flicked in the air casually as she thought of what she should do today.

Angel shook in fear as a large all black tom cat attacked her. She didn't want to fight, she didn't want to unsheathe her claws, why didn't he understand? She prepared to die as he raised his deadly head and aimed for her chest. She woke up with a start. Angel stumbled up onto her feet and forced herself to calm down. It was only a dream, she inwardly told herself. After a few minutes, Angel realized the other cat had left the den. She opened her mouth, sniffed the air, and slowly started feeling her way toward the scent.

Silver scented the air, the aroma was rather delightful. Cool air, morning mist from the river, prey, and other scents filled her nostrils. She perked her ears as she noticed something coming near her. Her senses told her it was another cat from the clan, but she can't remember who, as she has only met the cat once, and even then it wasn't long. The scent smelled oddly familiar, and not just from the clan. She questioned herself, Where do I remember that scent from? She turned around to look at the other cat, then said, "Hello." Something about her seemed familiar about the other cat as well, but she couldn't find out what it was.

Angel jumped when she heard the other cat's voice. It wasn't because she was startled, she had smelled the cat long before she spoke. She was fidgety because of her dream. They happened often. Too often. "H-Hello," Angel said quietly. In just one word, the she-cat also brought back many memories. Some quality of it reminded her of Shadow. She swallowed hard, forcing back her emotions. She would not start the day off upset.

The voice of the other cat reminded her of Angel, who she had lost long ago in the storm. It brought back memories of when she was a kit, and of how much she still missed her sister. She questioned herself, is she my my sister, of whom I have lost so long ago? She let out a sigh. No. It couldn't be. For all I know the dogs got her, and because of how horrible of a sister I am, I let it happen without even realizing it, she told herself. She asked the cat, "What's your name?"

"AngelSong," she meowed. The shakiness in her voice wasn't as bad, but it was there, as it has always been. She forced herself not to think about her past, but the memories still lingered. I want to be able to SEE this cat! she inwardly cried. Angel not only wanted to see the cat, she wanted to see any cat. Her sister had described what things looked like to her, but she'd never seen the exact shape of anything. A pang of guilt rushed through her. If only I hadn't been such a stupid kit and stayed closer to Shadow. Only if....

"Nice to meet you, AngelSong. I am SilverClaw," she responded. She noticed that Angel's eyes weren't really focused on anything. and looked blank. They also looked exactly like hers did. It's just a coincidence that she is possibly blind, by what I see, and that her eyes are the exact color and shape as me, she convinced herself. She wanted to avoid any more personal questions about Angel, as the name of her, and everything she could tell about her just made her think of her sister even more. She would do anything to be with her sister, and knowing that she may never get to be with her is something that she can not risk remembering about, as it would just make her life more complicated. She decided to go for a simple question rather than a personal one. Silver asked in a friendly voice, "How are you today?"

Angel felt a slight hint of recognition when the cat-SilverClaw- spoke. She could hear the slight rasping sound the cat made when she talked.... Just like Shadow did! she thought. How is this possible? No, it is just a coincidence. No, it's not. No cat's voice sounds the same to me. It sounds older, yes, but not unlike my Shadow. Angel swallowed to prevent herself from shouting the questions she wanted to ask. Instead, she answered Silver. "I'm doing okay, I guess. As well as to be expected," she said in her slightly shaky tone.

"Thats good. I am fine." She responded to Angel. She wanted to ask the questions that she wanted to know, but she forced herself not to. She worried to herslelf, What if she hates me for leaving her? What if she doesn't like me anymore? What if she isn't who I think she is? What if she isn't even my sister, and my mind is just playing tricks on me? The thoughts rushed through her mind like a river, but the questions she wanted to know the answer to is something she thinks she will never discover. Even if she were to ask, she has no idea how to phrase the question. She let out a sigh.

Angel sighed in reply. It wasn't a melancholy sound, but it wasn't happy either. She was starting to feel anxiety from being around this cat that reminded her so much of her sister. She stood up, shook her now dry pelt, and padded toward the smell of fresh kill. She tripped every few steps over a stone or small sliver of wood, but that was normal. It was slow going for a blind feline, and her eyes always seemed to focus on something in the distance.

Silver watched the cat walk away, the thoughts of her sister flooded her brain even more when she saw the cat tripping over things, just as a cat that was blind would do. She wanted to know if it was her sister, but couldn't find it in herself to ask. She began padding out of camp to go to the river for some relaxation. She figured that she would bring back a mouse or two so it would seem as if she had gone hunting, while in reality she was mainly just thinking and relaxing the whole time.

Angel finally made it to the fresh kill pile. She sniffed out a mouse and made sure it wasn't the plumpest one in the pile. She always made sure she never took the biggest piece of prey, even if she was hungry enough for it. She'd always been fed the littlest possible as a kit, and it seemed her place to do so now. It never occurred to her that it was wrong for her parents to deprive her of food, but it was what she grew up with and knew, so she'd stick with it. Angel touched her nose to the mouse and took a bite out of it after she'd sniffed it thoroughly and found no poisons. Soon all that remained of her breakfast was a small pile of bones. Though she didn't know what anything looked like, she learned what shapes were by their feel. She knew that circles were round, squares and triangles had edges, that sort of thing, but she wanted to know what they looked like. Angel made a quick stop to the dirt pile, as quick as a blind cat could be, anyway and headed toward the sound of the river. What she needed was a good swim to lighten her mood.

As she neared the river, she could hear the rushing of the current passing around or over the rocks in the short distance. Her nostrils picked up the scent of flowers, many animals, and a familiar smell of a cat somewhere behind her. She shrugged and continued striding towards the river. As soon as she caught vision of it, she bounded towards the water and leaped in. She treaded in the current, feeling the water rush through her fur. Calming thoughts flooded her mind. I will forget about her. My sister is gone, and there is nothing I can do about it, Silver forced herself to believe. Deep inside her, she had a feeling that she was wrong, but thinking that her sister had suffered all those moons because of her is something that she can not keep in her thoughts.

Angel very cautiously found her way to the river. She stumbled nearly every step once she neared the rocky shore. With a yowl, she slid into the water. Instantly she felt more alive. Every hair on her pelt felt refreshed, and she could hear, feel, and almost see everything around her. She ducked her head underwater and enjoyed the slightly warbled yet clearer sound she got whilst submerged in water. Angel only surfaced after using up all her air and then some. She then swam with the current and allowed it to coddle her, to hug her and make everything feel okay again.

She heard the splashing of another cat nearby, and instantly became alert. She scented the air carefully, and recognized the scent of the cat she had met earlier. Silver sighed and mumbled low enough for only herself to hear, "Ugh..Why does she have to be here?" Silver swam towards shore, her fur soaked to the skin. As she reached the surface, dripping wet, she took a few steps then shook out her fur, sending water droplets flying everywhere. She didn't want to be reminded of her sister any longer, unless it was her actual sister. She walked along the river bank in the opposide direction that AngelSong was going. After a few minutes of walking along the bank, she sighed and plopped to the ground, letting the spring sun warm her pelt. More than anything, she wanted to see, or even just know that her sister is okay, but getting reminded of her from a cat she just met doesn't help her.
